Update 09/21/2009:
I am of the belief now, the dimensions of wellness are Seven (7) not eight (8).
Occupational and Vocational wellness are very close they should be grouped together.
Thus the Seven dimensions of wellness are:
1. Emotional Wellness
2. Environmental Wellness
3. Intellectual Wellness
4. Occupational / Vocational Wellness
5. Physical Wellness
6. Social Wellness (including Interpersonal & Multicultural Wellness)
7. Spiritual Wellness
@Ethan Z.
Ethan, you are correct.
@Natasha Scott
Thanks
There are 8 dimensions. Your guy left out spiritual
•physical
•spiritual
•social
•vocational
•intellectual
•emotional
•financial
•environmental
@Mart
it is a very important one!
Spiritual is included
what about financial wellness?
@Ethan Z.
I have been looking at such lists and I see a couple distinctions–the 7 you list are commonly agreed upon, but I have also seen ‘Sexual Wellness’ and ‘Nutritional Wellness’ which I think are thick enough branches on the Physical wellness tree that I am not sure I am ready to force them back to the trunk. I do like the number 7 though–it is such an important number through man’s history that I also would like to come up with 7–I may consider the consolidation as you suggest above.
@Ethan Z
I received a copy of 8 Dimensions of Wellness as:
Emotional
Financial
Social
Spiritual
Occupational
Physical
Intellectual
Environmental
I was asked to write a small paragraph of what they meant to me. (Haven’t completed that yet)
