The Definition of Occupational Wellness
What is Occupational Wellness? Occupational wellness refers to one’s attitude about one’s work. It refers to having an interest in your life, which may involve money. An occupationally well person is one that is involved in paid and non-paid activities that are personally rewarding and make a contribution to the well-being of the community at large.
The list below has the components of Occupational Wellness:
- The choice of profession
- Job satisfaction
- Career ambitions
- Personal performance
Occupational Wellness means:
- Doing exactly what one wants in life while being comfortable with one’s future plans
- Recognizing personal satisfaction and enrichment in one’s life through work
- To be occupationally well, a person is ultimately doing exactly what they want to do in life and are comfortable with their future plans.
- Occupational Wellness is one of the interconnected eight dimensions of wellness
In a nutshell, to be occupationally well one must contribute one’s unique skills or talents to work that is meaningful and rewarding. Furthermore, this person should integrate their commitment to the occupational realm into a total lifestyle that is rewarding and satisfactory.
